About us

About us

When talking about "us" I mean all the persons who have - in the course of time - joined our group to do research in the area of polymer containing systems. Everything started already some sixty years ago, as documented by my brief CV.

  • 1955-65 Student of Chemistry at University of Vienna, Austria Ph. D. Thesis in the field of Physical Chemistry with Prof. Dr. J. W. Breitenbach

  • 1965 Promotion to Dr. phil. (viva voce in philosophy and psychology)

  • 1969 Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung at the Johannes Gutenberg-University with Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. G. V. Schulz

  • 1973 Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg-University

I am retired since a number of years, but still actively involved in ongoing research, thanks to the continued collaboration with guests from all over the world. In the past we were involved in numerous long-term exchange programs, where some of them lasted for more than twenty years. The Non-European countries our guests came and are coming from are in the following specified in alphabetic order: Argentina, Brasil, China, India, Iraq, Iran, Japan, Romania, Russia. The photograph shown below documents that the members of our group still meet from time to time.
